How would you describe your shooting style?
Special Event Video is very unobtrusive. Almost
all videography is done from positions and angles that are not in the
general view of the couple and their guests. No blinding lights are
used, nor are big bulky tripods used at the reception. Lots of candid
and natural reaction shots are captured of the couple and their guests
throughout the day.
What type of equipment do you use?
Special Event Video uses professional 3 chip digital cameras for all video recording. In addition, sound is captured through the use of UHF wireless lapel microphones, minidisc audio recorders and other on-camera microphones.
When do you start video recording on our
day?
All packages include Special Event Video’s
arrival to the ceremony at least an hour and a half in advance.
Will our wedding DVD be personalized?
Yes. All DVDs have a custom menu screen and various chapter icons from which you can select. All packages include 4 DVD copies of your wedding day video. Additional copies can be ordered.
How long will my finished video be?
Depending on the length of your ceremony, as well as reception coverage,
most finished productions range between 1 hour 30 minutes to 2 hours.
Can we provide input into how we want
our video to look and sound?
Yes. Special Event Video requires all couples
to provide the music that they want featured in their video. Also, your
input and ideas of what features and effects, etc. you like best will
be made a priority and incorporated into your video so it will be exactly
the way you want it.
How long will it take for me to receive
my video?
Most wedding video productions are completed within a 12 to 24 week period.
Have you received any national awards
for your wedding videography?
Yes. The Videographer Awards and the Telly Awards. In addition, John's written various articles about the industry and has been a featured guest speaker at video conventions in Illinois and Iowa.
